Bertrand de Montauzon

Bertrand de Montauzon is part of the founding team that started BrightGate Capital in 2008. Before founding the company, Bertrand worked in Private Banking in various multi-national companies, such as Merrill Lynch (1992 to 2003) and Credit Suisse (2003 to 2006).

Jacobo Arteaga is, together with Bertrand de Montauzon, one of the founding members of BrightGate Capital.
Jacobo holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from Universidad San Pablo CEU in Madrid. Before joining BrightGate Capital, he worked in various financial institutions, such as JP Morgan, Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse.

Before joining BrightGate, Jaime worked in different areas of investment banking divisions of various top-level, multi-national financial companies such as Merrill Lynch (M&A), UBS Warburg (Equity Research) and Citigroup (Equity Research).
In 2011 he founded Dicania Investment Partners AV, an Investment Firm dedicated to the distribution of international funds in the Iberian market. Dicania distributed the funds of Capital Group. With AUM of $1.2 trillion, Capital Group was one of the most important management companies in the fund industry.
As an analyst, Jaime accomplished international recognition by being named “Best Analyst of the Spanish stock market” on several occasions and by taking his team to the “Top 3” for almost a decade (Extel & Institutional Investor).
Jaime holds a degree in Economics and Business from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE).
Managing Partner / Administration and Operations
Marta’s career path goes back to 1998, date when she started to work as Client Service Officer in Merrill Lynch Private Banking. In 2003 she joined Credit Suisse, where she continued to work as Client Service Officer within the Private Banking department.
Since the foundation of BrightGate Capital in 2008, Marta has been the Director of Administration and Operations.
Marta holds a degree in Law from Universidad Complutense in Madrid.
Javier López Bernardo
Javier López Bernardo holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Universidad Complutense in Madrid, a Master’s in Corporate Finance from the IEB (Institute of Stock Exchange Studies) and another Master’s in Economics from Kingston University, London, where he also obtained a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Economics – funded by a grant from the Ramón Areces Foundation.
Javier is a CFA charterholder, has experience in Corporate Finance and as an economist. He is also the co-author of a macroeconomic model – “financial balances” – on the American economy.
Javier has published articles and papers in various international journals and is the author of the macroeconomics and finance blog “The Beauty Contest”.

With an international background, having lived between Israel, Scotland and England, Patricia holds a BA in International Relations and Political Science from Queen Mary University of London. Besides, Patricia has completed a Postgraduate Degree in Security in the MENA region from General Gutiérrez Mellado Institute.
Patricia has coursed a Young Graduates Program in Security and Defense studies at CESEDEN – supported by the Ministry of Defense. Besides, before joining BrightGate Capital’s team, Patricia accomplished two internships at the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and at Elcano Royal Institute, based in Madrid.

Javier Herreros de Tejada
Managing partner – Investment director
Javier has spent 29 years in the financial sector, and has ample experience in M&A, private equity, risk management, credit, derivatives and real estate.
Before joining BrightGate, Javier was CIO at Skipper Capital EAFI, advising institutional clients. Between 1999 and 2004 he was responsible of Citibank’s Private Bank business in Spain. Before that, he worked at Citibank San Francisco in the Wealth Management division, managing more than 800 million in risk, and the Real Estate division, restructuring NPL’s portfolio. Between 1991 and 1994, he was the director of big enterprises in Citibank Corporate Bank. From 1988 to 1989 he worked as an analyst and junior transactor in M&A at Citibank Madrid.
Javier holds a degree in Corporate Law from ICADE and an MBA from IESE.
Juan Colás de Casso
Corporate Risk Manager
Juan Colás de Casso has 25 years of experience in the origination and distribution of Risk and Asset Management products for businesses and institutional investors, both in Europe and Latin America.
Between 2003 and 2014, Juan took on various leadership positions in the treasury of Santander Bank as Global Director of Sales, Global Director of derivatives & structuring, and Director of Sales at Santander Brazil.
Prior to that, he worked for Citibank for 14 years in numerous locations: Madrid, Buenos Aires and New York, where he was responsible for sales for Latin America.
Juan holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, an MBA from the University of San Diego, and an Executive MBA from IESE.
Risks & Administration
Luisa Álvarez worked for more than twenty years as Client Service Officer at Merrill Lynch Private Banking in Madrid (primarily) and in Barcelona.
Later she spent two years at Active International – an American company focused on corporate trade. Luisa formed part of the team that developed the project in Spain, working there as Office Manager.
Luisa has been a member of the BrightGate Team – more specifically as part of BrightGate Advisory EAFI – since the beginning of 2015, where she works as responsible of Administration and Risk.
