Founded in 2007, Alpha Japan Asset Advisors is an independent asset management company with headquarters in Tokyo and is regulated by the Finance Ministry of Japan. The company primary focus is the management of Japanese equities.
Alpha Japan has one of the most emblematic teams of the Japanese equity market and without any doubt, one of the most experienced and with greater reputation in the asset class. Led by Masahiro Umeki, Hiroshi Ikeda and Kunio Tomiyama, the management team has more than 30 years of experience managing Japanese equities and decades of close collaboration.
The prestige and good performance of the management team during many decades allowed Alpha Japan to be the only ¨No Nomura¨ asset manager that the Japanese giant let operate within its structure – that is why Nomura leads the fund’s name.
